World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades can be used to improve the stats of an item. Depending on the upgrade type it could boost an item's Mark Level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.
Each item comes with a track for upgrading it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next one by a specific amount.
Item Level
The value of an item's base stats increases as it is upgraded. The value is the sum of all of the perks that are leveled up (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades to items can be costly depending on the upgrader and what kind of upgrade you decide to make. This is due to the sheer number of perks that need to be changed in order to upgrade an item.
It can also be used to enforce gating requirements when waiting for dungeons, raids and scenarios. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear since PvP is not available at lower levels. Players can view their average level of item on their character sheet.
Utilizing the level of an item can help players compare the potency of gear when choosing to buy or sell. It's a good indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it will be capable of dealing with. Comparing items from a vendor's stock is possible using the item's level.
The item level can be seen by pressing the ALT key on PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. item upgrading will show the full description of the item, as well as its ilvl. It is also accessible by hovering over an item with the mouse cursor and entering /itemlevel into chat.
There are several theories on how the item level calculation is done. One theory suggests that the item level is determined by an equation that determines the worth of an item's stats really are. It considers the fact that different perks have different values and sockets have gems that increase the value of the item overall. This process can result in a calculated amount for the item's ilvl, which is typically close to Blizzard's actual item level.
However, this is not the only factor which can affect an item's ilvl because the level of the region the item is dropped into can alter the value of its stats, such as by adding an additional level to its crit rating or haste rating. item upgrade means that items dropped at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The stats of an item can determine the fate of an item for players. The game uses a variety of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and prevent one weapon from being "the best." The stat mods on a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's skill.
Upgrades to an item can increase the stats of an item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. For instance, a grey or white item will only be upgraded once, while items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times at higher prices.
Affixes are another way to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. Affixes are used to give items extra damage or special abilities (such as the ability to revive dead or reduce cooling downs) or to differentiate them by putting a name on them.
Presently, all affixes are able to be rerolled by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. This procedure will cost the player a specific amount of gold and items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other options for rerolling.
Players can upgrade an item by a specific stat, or reroll attaches. The range of stats is determined by the item's level. However each item will contain at least one stat within the range, unless they are an item that is unique, or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that can be modified by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without rerolling the affixes or choosing which stats to boost. As with base equipment, it will have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats at once.
Item Luck
A player's Luck stat stacks up to increase the likelihood of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the intensity of those properties. However, it does not directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It simply gives players the possibility to obtain better gear in earlier waves and is therefore more valuable in the initial game run as opposed to later ones, as most players prioritize higher weapon scaling and defenses over the raw damage gain.
In item upgrades to influencing item discovery, Luck also increases the chances of being successful when upgrading items using the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall chance of upgrading, which increase with each level of the item. They can also be increased with the use of anti-materials, such as a Scroll of Strength and a Jewel of Blessing.
Armor, shields and weapons have the default Luck value of 40. These items can be enhanced with golden ingots, or spined leather (depending on the material they are made of) to add another 40 luck, or to increase the luck of the item to 140.
Moreover there are certain items, like the Hollow weapon that is infused with hollow can be used to increase the damage of any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available at the store, or they can be made using the correct ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items are expensive and not all upgrades will succeed. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their items if it does not work.
When you upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage is the probability of successful upgrading an item. This can be increased by using Additional Materials or Special materials. The probability of success can only be increased by so much, and the likelihood that an upgrade will fail cannot exceed 100%.

The performance of an upgrades is also influenced by the luck of that item. Each item has an overall success rate of 25%, and each item that has Luck increases this chance by 5%.
The upgrade overlays of the item are rendered above the items in the inventory. This can obscure enchantment effects and other effects. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
